Android Rooting

When I quit Google in 2015, I switched to using an iPhone after 8 solid years in the Android ecosystem. I have never returned to Android permanently (ANRs are not my favorite), but I tend to keep an Android device around for when I have need of one. Recently I did indeed have need of one and fired up my Pixel 3 to find it was no longer getting updates. Doh. I hit up a friend at Google to use their discount to get myself a shiny new Pixel 8a (using their discount) in a delightful mint green shade. (Apple could take a note from this, people like colors!) Anyway, I needed the phone to be rooted, so after nearly a decade of not bothering with adb and fastboot and the like, I had to refresh my knowledge. Commands that are either new or I'd forgotten and now need to remember:

fastboot flashing unlock

adb reboot bootloader

My phone is now all nice and rooted and I once again feel like I Can Computer. 😂
